COMMITTEES AND SUBCOMMITTEES

House Agriculture Committee - jurisdiction over agriculture generally, including agricultural production, marketing and stabilization of prices, inspection of livestock and meat products, crop insurance, soil conservation, forestry, rural development, commodity exchanges, and human nutrition.

House Agriculture Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities, Resource Conservation and Credit - program and markets related to cotton, cottonseed, wheat, feed grains, soybeans, oilseeds, rice, dry beans, peas, lentils, the Commodity Credit Corporation, agricultural credit, natural resources conservation, small watershed program, rural development, rural electrification, energy, farm security and family farming matters.

Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee - jurisdiction over agricultural production, marketing and stabilization of prices, inspection and products promotion, forestry, conservation, rural revitalization, research and nutrition.

House Appropriations Committee - jurisdiction over appropriations for USDA, Farm Credit Administration, Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Food & Drug Administration.
