AGENCIES / PROGRAMS

Department of Transportation - ensures a fast, safe, efficient, and convenient transportation system, with nearly 100,000 employees nationwide.

Federal Highway Administration - an agency of the Department of Transportation, which provides federal financial assistance to the system to construct and improve the National Highway System, urban and rural roads, and bridges.

Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration - established within the Department of Transportation on January 1, 2000, whose mission is to prevent commercial motor vehicle-related fatalities and injuries.

USDA Shipper and Exporter Assistance Program - provides new and experienced agricultural exporters with information to get products overseas on time, in good condition and at the lowest cost.

American Trucking Association - the national trade association of the trucking industry serving the united interests of 9.3 million people and 423,000-plus companies involved in trucking.

Association of American Railroads - represents North America's major freight railroads and Amtrak.
