To amend the Bill Emerson Humanitarian Trust Act to provide clarification with respect to the period of time for which funds may be held in the trust established under that Act.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. AMENDMENT TO BILL EMERSON HUMANITARIAN TRUST ACT.

Section 302(b)(1)(D) of the Bill Emerson Humanitarian Trust Act (7 U.S.C. 1736f-1(b)(1)(D)) is amended by inserting after `paragraph (2)(B)' the following: `which may be held for such period of time as the Secretary determines to be appropriate and'.
