A BILL

To amend the Food Security Act of 1985 to increase the maximum amount of marketing loan gains and loan deficiency payments that an agricultural producer may receive during the 2001 crop year.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. INCREASE IN AUTHORIZED AMOUNT OF MARKETING LOAN GAINS AND LOAN DEFICIENCY PAYMENTS.

    Section 1001(2) of the Food Security Act of 1985 (7 U.S.C. 1308(2)) is amended by adding at the end the following new sentence: `However, during the 2001 crop year, the total amount of such payments may not exceed $150,000 per person.'.
