to the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry

To amend the National School Lunch Act to revise the eligibility
of private organizations under the child and adult care food program.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. ELIGIBILITY OF PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS UNDER THE CHILD AND ADULT
CARE FOOD PROGRAM UNDER THE NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH ACT.
Section 17(a) of the National School Lunch Act (42 U.S.C. 1766(a))
is amended in the second sentence by striking `for which it receives compensation
from amounts granted to the States under title XX of the Social Security
Act (but only if such organization receives compensation under such title
for at least 25 percent of its enrolled children or 25 percent of its licensed
capacity, whichever is less)' and inserting `with at least 25 percent of
the children served by such organization who meet the income eligibility
criteria established under section 9(b) for free or reduced price meals'.
