A BILL
To amend the Agricultural Market Transition Act to extend the milk price
support program through 2002 at an increased price support rate.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the `Dairy Revenue Protection Act of 1999'.
SEC. 2. MILK PRICE SUPPORT PROGRAM.
(a) EXTENSION OF PROGRAM- Subsection (h) of section 141 of the Agricultural
Market Transition Act (7 U.S.C. 7251) is amended--
(1) by striking `1999' both places it appears and inserting `2002';
and
(2) by adding at the end the following new sentence: `During the period
of effectiveness of the program, section 201 of the Agricultural Act of
1949 (7 U.S.C. 1446), including subsection (c) of such section, shall not
apply to milk.'.
(b) PRICE SUPPORT RATE- Subsection (b) of such section is amended by
adding at the end the following new paragraph:
`(5) During calendar years 2000 through 2002, $10.35.'.
(c) REPEAL OF RECOURSE LOAN PROGRAM FOR PROCESSORS- Section 142 of
the Agricultural Market Transition Act (7 U.S.C. 7252) is repealed.
