House Names More Conferees

The cast of characters in the conference committee on the 2002 farm bill expanded Thursday when the House of Representatives named members of nine additional committees to the group that will work out a final version of the legislation.
Each of the nine panels got three conferees, two Republicans and one Democrat. The House Agriculture Committee has 14 conferees named earlier.
House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL) appointed the additional conferees:
from the Committee on Ways and Means: Thomas, Herger, and Rangel.

¨ from the Committee on Financial Services: Oxley, Bachus, and LaFalce.
¨ from the Committee on Energy and Commerce: Tauzin, Barton, and Dingell.
