Hot Dog Sales Increase

Hot dog sales in food courts increased by nearly 8% last year, while consumer spending in general at food courts declined by 3%, according to a new Carlson Report released last week. The hot dog was one of the few food court vendors that increased sales in 2000.
Vendors of hot dog increased sales by 7.76%, earning $413,502 in sales in 2000. Hamburger sales in 2000 slid down in sales 43% from last year, earning $730,399. Those earnings are down from $1,288,932 in 1999.
Among the most popular food court entrees were: wraps, with a sales increase of more than 150%; Chinese food with a sales increase of 32% and pizza with a sales increase of nearly 14%.
