Beef Campaign Nets 4,500-Plus Members
June 14, 2001
More than 4,500 beef producers from across the nation joined the National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA) during the 2001 "Partners for Generations" membership campaign. The campaign, sponsored by Merial, offered membership certificates for IVOMECŪ Brand Products and Merial vaccines to individuals who joined the association between Jan. 1 and March 31.
"We need everyone in the cattle business on board with NCBA to continue dealing with issues like foot and mouth disease and BSE. In Washington DC, NCBA also addresses all of the regulatory and legislative issues that affect today's producers, like tax relief, private property rights and trade issues," said Mike John, a cow-calf producer from Huntsville, MO, and chairman of the NCBA Membership and Association Services Committee. "Membership is the basis for our continued success."
This marks the 10th consecutive year that Merial and NCBA have partnered for a membership campaign. "While beef producers face many unique issues depending on where they live, we also have to deal with issues that affect the beef industry as a whole," John added. "The more producers who support NCBA, the more their organization can get done for them."
The NCBA currently has a direct membership of more than 35,000 individuals. It also represents affiliate organizations that have another 230,000 cattle producer members.
