Winrock International and USDA have agreed to donate wheat for monetization in Kenya. A total of 20,000 tons of wheat and related ocean transportation costs, valued at about $2.5 million, are involved in the deal.

The donation of wheat, delivered in bulk, will be sold to a private sector buyer in Kenya. Winrock will use the proceeds to advance the leadership role of women in agriculture, to address natural resource and environmental issues and expand the regional training capabilities and resources directed to women and small farmers.
